"Akra Jazz Festival" will start tomorrow in Antalya

According to the statement made by the festival's press office, the festival, organized by Akra Hotels for the eighth time this year, will host famous names on the open-air stage of the Akra Antalya Hotel.

The festival, which will feature performances blending contemporary jazz as well as funk, rock, Latin, soul, pop and world music with the rich texture of jazz, will begin with the "Ibrahim Maalouf & The Trumpets of Michel-Ange" concert.

As part of the festival, the "Akra Young Jazz" concert will be held on May 16, where Alan, Blue Kiss Collective and Emre Berk Trio will perform.

Grammy award-winning guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Richard Bona and his band will meet music lovers on May 17.

One of the most important names in jazz vocals, Kurt Elling, guitarist Charlie Hunter and SuperBlue will perform on May 21, while Melody Gardot, who blends R&B, blues, pop and jazz with a poetic sensitivity, will perform on May 23.

On May 24, vocalist and guitarist Fatoumata Diawara, who reflects the spirit of Africa in her music, will take the stage at the festival, while world-famous saxophone artist Igor Butman, the Moscow Jazz Orchestra and vocalist Fantine will meet art lovers on May 28.

The festival will end with two special concerts by world-famous pianist and composer Fazıl Say on May 30-31, themed "50 Years at the Piano".

One of the important names in drums, Ferit Odman, will accompany Fazıl Say in jazz arrangements.
